"I have current Enhanced Criminal Record Bureau Checks and have also taken a Cerficate in Child Protection Awareness through the NSPCC. These are available to view on the Child Protection page of this website.
"I believe that when tutoring children that they have a viable goal. Either being able to play 'Twinkle Twinkle' or just being able to join in and play with other children in a junior music group, is essential to the hopes of the child.
"We also have to have a bit of fun, whilst developing a technique that wont cause problems in the future.
"I have chosen to use the ABRSM's Music Medals scheme to help the young violinist. This scheme is based on five assessments:
Copper, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.
"These assessments are carried out by me, as a Teacher/Assessor for Music Medals, and fall in with the ABRSM's graded exams, taking the pupil up to Grade 3 at Platinum Level.
"I like this scheme as a child never fails, they get a certificate for 'Working Towards'. If they achieve a good assessment they get both a certifficate and a music medal."
Music Medals are accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority for England and the corresponding authorities in Wales and Northern Ireland. http://musicmedals.org/introduction/accreditation
